Susan J. Smith, MFA

Susan J. Smith recently completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in photography from Ohio State University in 1974. Career options for women were limited then, so she worked in mental health and developmental disabilities while she saved for camera equipment. For the next twenty years, she worked as a commercial photographer. Her work gravitated toward portraiture, as she enjoys working with people and animals. She provides consulting services to people with disabilities. She lives in Washington state, and does free-lance photography while she looks for a teaching job.
