What is home, and where is it? What does it mean to look for home, to find home, to lose home, to be at home? In whose company does home arise? Under what circumstances? At what cost? How is "home" being impacted by the current economic crisis in America? The Visual Arts Gallery at Emory University invites submissions to a juried photography exhibition on these and related issues: images (and combinations of images and words) that investigate, comment on and test various dimensions of "home" - in its familiarity and unfamiliarity, its pleasures and discomforts, its communal and personal aspects.

ELIGIBILITY: Submission is open to all Friends of Emory Visual Arts, membership in which is included in the entry fee for Picturing Home. Images created via any form of photography will be accepted for consideration. Art must be original, created by the person who enters that work. Previously exhibited work will be accepted.

JURORS: The exhibition's jurors are Julian Cox, curator of photography at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, and Jason Francisco, associate professor of photography and chair of the Visual Arts Department at Emory University.
