Lesley Anne Bleakney is a doctoral student in sociology and a visiting graduate fellow at the Emory University Center for Myth and Ritual in American Life (MARIAL). She is conducting a two-year empirical project on family narratives of three-generation American families. Her research is supported by the MARIAL Center, the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany and the Center for Interdisciplinary Memory Research in Essen, Germany under the guidance of Professor Harald Welzer. Bleakney has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in philosophy and culture from the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany. She has studied at the University of California, Berkeley; San Francisco State University; and London School of Economics.
