Kelley Denise Alexander has been a writer and editor since 1983. Her writing career began with writing technical manuals and editing scientific journals.

A prolific poet, Alexander is the president and CEO of InnerLight Publishing, a small, independent publishing house in Decatur, Georgia. One of InnerLight's books entitled, "The World Is Round," won the Benjamin Franklin Award for publishing in 2003. For the company, Alexander performs most of the key functions, including editing, marketing and publicity, and project management.
Alexander's interest in the subject of parenting began as she contemplated adopting a child at the age of 45.
With a bachelor's degree in English from Beloit College and a master's degree in Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University, Alexander is currently an adjunct professor at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
