Daniel Sorkin, Psy.D.

Chicago School of Professional Psychology

Daniel Sorkin earned a PsyD degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2008. He currently is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Jewish Child and Family Services in Northbrook, Illinois where he provides therapy and psychological testing for youth and their families. He previously worked in a residential treatment facility for children and an adolescent inpatient hospital program. Prior to working in the field of mental health, he spent several years working in residential camping as the director of an adolescent leadership-training program. His research interests include child development, identity development, rites of passage, and wilderness/adventure therapy. His dissertation, Jewish Camping: A Rite of Passage for Contemporary Jewish Adolescents, aimed to deconstruct the archetypal rite of passage and use the building blocks to create a residential camp curriculum that would facilitate an adolescent rite of passage.
